Francesco Facchinetti said Mcgregor launched an unprovoked attack on the St. Regis Hotel in Rome on Saturday, injuring his face and neck.

On Tuesday, Facchinetti told CNN he decided to press charges against McGregor “because the world must know he is dangerous.”

Facchinetti posted an image of the incident report on his Instagram feed.

Mariano Comasco rifle police in Como province confirmed to CNN that Facchinetti and his lawyer officially filed a complaint on Tuesday.

CNN has reached out to representatives for McGregor for comment.

Facchinetti says he was part of a group that McGregor invited to the hotel for a party, but he says McGregor allegedly went on a rampage when he and his group said they wanted to leave, claiming McGregor had him hit in the mouth and nose.

Facchinetti says he suffered an alleged concussion and decided to press charges after discussing the incident with his wife and friends.

“He is dangerous, he must be stopped,” Facchinetti told CNN.

Facchinetti said he hoped the luxury hotel would have CCTV footage of the incident.

A spokesperson for the St. Regis Rome said the safety of guests and employees was the hotel’s top priority.

“We continue to offer the police our full support in their investigation and have shared with them all available video surveillance,” the spokesperson said in a statement sent to CNN on Wednesday.

This isn’t the first time McGregor has been in trouble with the law.

Most recently, McGregor pleaded guilty in November 2019 to assault after admitting to punching a man at a bar in Dublin, Ireland, according to ESPN.

Cage Warriors is also recognized for bringing talent to the UFC. We witnessed some incredible talents from a CW fighter earlier this week. That fighter was Josh Wang-Kim, a youngster from San Diego, Calif. Who is a pleasure to watch. The San Diego native claimed another victory in the CAGE WARRIORS 130 event against Jose Hernandez. Here’s a mind-boggling presentation of the beautiful “soft music” kick from fight winner Josh Wang-Kim.

Kim concluded her amateur career with a fantastic save of 15 wins and one loss. He is also a two-time CA 1 state champion. Kim is now 4-0 in his professional career. Jose Hernandez had twice Wang-Kim’s experience and proved his ability to go the distance, with five of his seven fights in the three rounds. But he didn’t stand a chance against Josh Wang-Kim in the Octagon.

A ruthless caged fighter who killed a man by beating him before leaving him to drown is the prime suspect for handling the huge stash of drugs and phones seized from Mountjoy Prison this week.

eszek Sychulec, who is serving a life sentence for the murder of Patryk Krupa (23) in 2014 in Athlone, was serving his sentence on level C of the prison – where a significant amount of contraband was discovered this week.

Hidden behind a sign in a restroom area, the loot included around 14,000 LSD pills as well as quantities of cocaine, heroin and several hundred other pills, sources said.

The search also found 15 cell phones, including smart phones and miniature cell phones that are easy to conceal.

Estimated at just under € 150,000, drugs can sell for three or four times more in prison than outside. It is believed that the smuggling was organized by inmates linked to the Kinahan Cartel, which controls the drug supply in the prison.

in 2014, caged fighter Sychulec and another man kidnapped Patryk Krupa on the street before beating him until he passed out and left him to drown in the River Shannon.

Their victim was walking to the gym with his two friends when a black BMW pulled up beside them and two men stepped out.

One of the attackers butted one of Mr. Krupa’s friends and told them to go fuck themselves before disappearing down an alley with him.

The friends were worried as they knew Mr. Krupa owed a man money and started looking for him in the city with his pregnant partner. They found him floating face down in the Shannon, but were unable to revive him.

A man who had been tasked by Sychulec and the other man to help locate Krupa testified to how their victim was beaten in the back of the car. He said Mr. Krupa was shouting “I pay” as they continued to beat him, before dragging him to the river.

The court heard he was unconscious but alive when he was thrown into the water.

When Sychulec was arrested the next day, Mr. Krupa’s DNA was found in the blood on his watch and sock.

When he was first charged with murder, dozens of people gathered outside Athlone District Court where armed guards were drafted.

At the sentencing hearing, the victim impact statement of Patryk Krupa’s mother was read: “I keep dreaming about how he was beaten, kicked and dragged through the water. Both drag marks were there very long after the day.

The recent drug seizure in Mountjoy is currently under investigation by the Gardaí, along with a previous hiding place discovered last November.

An official spokesperson said this week: “The Irish Prison Service can confirm that a major contraband seizure was made in Mountjoy Prison on October 12, 2021.”

It was strongly suspected that last November’s delivery, which included more than 20 phones and two bags of suspected cocaine, was intended for inmates linked to the Kinahan Cartel, whose members are the dominant faction in Mountjoy and are believed to be in control of the supply. into illicit goods. inside.

Sources claim that prison bosses are deliberately trying to disrupt the activities of the Kinahan Cartel by moving gangsters into the prison system.

Recently, Finglas criminal Gary Thompson (36) was suspected of exercising control over detainees at Mountjoy and was transferred to Castlerea Prison in Co Roscommon last month before being transferred again shortly afterwards to Midlands Prison.

It is suspected that the gangster – who is serving a 12-and-a-half-year sentence for his role in a plot to kill monk’s brother Patrick ‘Patsy’ Hutch for the cartel – arrived at Catslerea prison with a package of drugs that ‘he distributed. among the other inmates of the prison.

When you think of the bucolic town of Wrentham, with its township lined with three beautiful churches, a Bedford Falls-style town center and a pair of picturesque lakes, you wouldn’t think the town of just under 12,000 could be fertile ground for a prominent mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter, but he has one in Fabio Cherant, 26.

Cherant is currently the 116th largest light heavyweight by the tapology.com after only starting the sport five years ago, and for a period of six weeks from mid-February to the end of March, he held the Legacy Fighting Alliance light heavyweight title after winning a decision unanimous on Myron Dennis to win the vacant crown.

Born in the Brooklyn neighborhood of New York City, Cherant had a sort of nomadic childhood, but ended up in Wrentham for his high school years, passing those of King Philip Regional High School.

“I’ve been everywhere,” Cherant said. “New York, Connecticut, (the cities of Massachusetts) Mattapan and Dorchester, then my adoptive father transferred me to Wrentham.”

An only child, Cherant says he has foster siblings “whom I consider to be my real brothers and sisters.”

He grew up playing sports like most boys his age including ‘playing football with my brothers’, skateboarding and biking, and at KP he played football, lacrosse and running. foot.

He had little or no experience in the swashbuckling world of MMA, but decided to take up the sport at the age of 21.

“I just walked into a gym and started training,” Cherant said in a UFC interview last month. “I started doing this just to get in shape and feel better about myself because the gym didn’t do it for me anymore, and it took off and I fell in love with it.”

Cherant said his family were not fully supportive of his foray into the brutal sport, which is sometimes referred to as cage fighting, limitless combat and ultimate combat, and is a full contact combat sport based on striking, the grappling and ground fighting (also incorporating techniques from various combat sports including boxing, kickboxing and martial arts from around the world), but Cherant now claims that “my dad is probably one of my biggest supporters. “.

“After he started winning fights he said ‘that’s pretty cool” but since the pandemic he hasn’t been able to come to any of my fights but I hope to fly him for the next ones “said Cherant.

The 6′-1 “, 205-pound fighter lost his first bout as an amateur in June 2016, but he bounced back and won his next four, culminating with a Halloween weekend decision against Jerrel Cox just before Cherant’s 23rd birthday, in 2017.

“After my first amateur fight, my friends asked me, ‘What do you want to do with the fight? “” he said in an interview with the UFC. “I told them I wanted to be in the UFC at 25, and they kinda laughed and thought I was kidding, but I was 100% serious. And it’s great to have had the chance to do it. There was a year overdue due to COVID, but I’m here now. A year late, but it still matters to me.

His meteoric rise in the MMA ladder was remarkable once he turned pro and had his first professional fight in February 2018. Cherant actually won his first four professional fights, but after nearly nine months of dismissal. , he suffered his first professional loss at the hands of Ohioan Aleksa Camur in late July 2019.

As the 4-1 Cherant lined up his next fight, COVID hit and put the kibosh on the sport until he could return to the ring for an LFA clash with Erick Murray in late July 2020, where Cherant has won by a submission (Anaconda Choke) just 57 seconds into the fight, and less than three months later, he rose to 6-1 with a unanimous decision over New Yorker Yu Ji.

During the first few months of the pandemic, being able to train properly was a complicated business, but Cherant said he circumvented restrictions that prevented people from congregating too closely.

“I trained mainly during the pandemic in the garages of one of my friends,” recalls Cherant. “Once the gyms started opening, we would sneak into our trainer’s gym at 4am, mostly training at the time, then walked back to my boyfriend’s garage.”

When asked what he focuses on when training, he hastens to say, “Everything, everything. It’s never good to know only one thing, I’d rather be a student of the game and learn everything rather than learn one thing.

This led to Cherant’s most publicized fight, against Dennis, who was almost six years his senior, for the vacant light heavyweight championship on February 12 earlier this year as the main event of LFA 99. With A unanimous triumph, Cherant claimed the championship belt in his eighth professional bout.

Along the way, he earned a nickname suggested by his trainer that Cherant wasn’t particularly in love with – “The Water Buffalo” – but the nickname grew on the fighter and he now uses it as a handle on his media platforms. social (@ Buffalomma8). “Yes, it’s not cliché, it’s very different,” he says.

After winning the light heavyweight championship, Cherant could have rested on his laurels and enjoyed the newfound glory, but when William Knight had to retire from his fight with Alonzo Medifield (9-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC ) for UFC 260 at the Las Vegas Octagon in March due to COVID, Cherant was invited with just two days’ notice to take Knight’s place.

Unsurprisingly, Cherant probably wasn’t as prepared for the fight as if he had specifically trained for it, and he also struggled with the weight limit, going half a pound over the cutoff point. The fight was allowed to continue, but Medifield made short work of the Massachusetts newcomer on his UFC debut, winning by submission in just over a minute.

“It was COVID. It was a huge thing, ”Cherant told Cageside Press in an interview a few months after the loss. “How many fighters lost weight during COVID, you know? Here in Boston, it was a bit difficult to lose weight when the gyms weren’t open, and especially the gyms I usually use, like the ones with saunas. The saunas are closed. You watch my fights before, and you check the weight on which I presented myself: never 205 [lbs.], 206 [lbs.]. I’m still under 203 [lbs.], 204 [lbs.]. People forget about it, ”Cherant said.

“In my last fight on two days’ notice, I dropped my weight to 0.5 206.5. Not 215, 206.5, on a fight I took on two days’ notice, ”Cherant recalls. “I was absolutely unprepared for that. Yes, at the end of the day I’m a professional, and I should have trained, but people forget that a month ago I fought for a world title and I did five rounds while healing injuries. Fighting on two days’ notice when you’re unprepared is a whole other ball game.

Cherant had another shot at UFC glory in the Vegas Octagon a few months ago, taking on William Knight, now COVID-free, a fellow New Englander from Connecticut. The 33-year-old UFC veteran, who entered the fight with a 9-2 record, won the fight just four minutes into the fight.

Cageside Press described the fight as: “At the start of the fight, Knight backed Cherant and landed a nasty calf kick. Cherant landed a front kick. Knight landed two more wicked kicks and went high, but Cherant blocked him. Cherant rushed forward and landed a punch. Knight landed another leg kick and then left a punch. Cherant landed another straight left which caught Knight’s attention. Cherant then landed another punch to the body. Knight responded to this with a heavy kick. Cherant rushed forward and Knight landed a left counter hook that bent Cherant. Just like that, the fight was over.

With his professional record still at an impressive 7-3, Cherant awaits his next opportunity inside the cage. He is also preparing to relocate from his current Norwood residence in Deerfield Beach, Florida, which is home to one of the sport’s most prolific training facilities, the Sanford MMA Gym. Although he no longer has roots or a family in Wrentham, Cherant admits that “I do not live there, but I will represent (resentment) Wrentham until I die”.

As his 27th birthday approaches in November, he believes his career is still at its peak. I mean I’ve only been doing this for five years so yeah I’m in the best shape of my life I’m definitely not going downhill.

He also believes that once his fighting career is over, he might be interested in managing fighters. “Maybe as a manager, but usually when I’m done with something it’s dead for me. Maybe I’ll leave for good and have nothing to do with it, but then again, maybe as a manager, teaching the dos and don’ts (in sports).

In the meantime, between fights, he’s still overseeing his clothing line (available via bonfire.com) and keep a close eye on his Twitter and Instagram feeds, saying, “I’m very involved (in social media), because in the generation we live in you have to be involved, that’s how you do things. fans. “

When asked if he, as a high school KP student, would have believed that a decade later he would make a living as a burgeoning MMA fighter, Cherant said, “Yes and no. ; I don’t think I would have believed I could have gotten this far, no, but then again, I’ve been through a lot in my life as well, so that wouldn’t be so crazy to believe.

One thing that Fabio Cherant does not lack is confidence in himself or in his future. When asked if there are some MMA or UFC fighters he admires, he replies, “No, I’m my own inspiration; I used to admire others growing up, but now I am able to admire myself.

After her exodus from “The Mandalorian” following a series of controversial social media posts, Gina Carano booked her second role in theaters after signing a starring and production deal with conservative website The Daily Wire .

Carano had previously been announced for a new film, tentatively titled “White Knuckle”, based on a book of the same name by writer Eric Red, who also wrote the cult horror film “The Hitcher”. This film is still in progress, but filming has been postponed until 2022.

Carano’s attention will now be on a new project called “Terror on the Prairie”, which is already in production with a release date slated for early 2022.

“Terror on the Prairie” tells the story of a pioneer family who fights against a vicious gang of outlaws who terrorize them at their newly built farmhouse on the Great Plains of Montana. Carano will star on the project, which is also filming in Montana with Dallas Sonnier (“Bone Tomahawk”) as producer with Michael Polish (“Northfolk”, “The Astronaut Farmer”) directing the film.

Among the film’s co-stars will be UFC veteran Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, who played a role in Netflix’s recent hit “Spencer Confidential,” appearing alongside Mark Wahlberg.

“Terror on the Prairie” also features “Justified” star Nick Searcy, as well as Heath Freeman (“Skateland”), Samaire Armstrong (“The OC”), Travis Mills, Matthias Hues, Rhys Becker, Izzy Marshall, Jeremy Gauna and Thomas Aigle Blanc.

This is the latest project for The Daily Wire after the conservative website announced its foray into the entertainment industry with the acquisition of the action film “Run Hide Fight”. The website then signed a global deal with Carano after she was fired from her role in “The Mandalorian” after appearing in both seasons of the “Star Wars” spinoff series on Disney +.

The new film starring Carano and Cerrone will be released exclusively for members of The Daily Wire website in spring 2022.

“There’s no easy way to really say it, but the fight is on in New York City,” Rockhold said. “I ended up with a herniated disc in my back, L4, L5, and the docs say I can’t play anything with it. I need to do some treatment with some recovery time.

“Some things just aren’t meant to be. New York, damn New York. Sorry for friends and family and mates and everyone but we will be back. Till next time.”

Several sources familiar with the situation also confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Monday, with Rockhold informing the UFC last week that he would not be able to compete on November 6.

The date was supposed to be Rockhold’s first UFC appearance since 2019, when he suffered a knockout loss to future light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz.

The scheduled fight at UFC 268 would have been Rockhold’s return to 185 pounds where he previously reigned as champion after winning the belt in 2015.

Sadly, Rockhold had a tougher time after coming out as champion with a 1-3 record in his next four fights, including a loss to Michael Bisping that cost him the middleweight title.

As for Strickland, he’s still waiting for a word on a potential replacement, although options are limited with the card just a few weeks away at this point. Almost all of the top-ranked middleweights are already booked right now, but sources say no official offers have been made for a replacement yet.

UFC 268 takes place on November 6 at Madison Square Garden in New York City with welterweight champion Kamaru Usman facing Colby Covington in a rematch of the main event after their first clash in 2019.

The rumored UFC practice of leaking fight announcements before contracts are signed has been confirmed by Curtis Blaydes.

This dubious tactic has long been suspected by some industry players, including Ariel Helwani, who last month wrote on the subject to his Substack subscribers.

“I’m glad some of you are finally starting to understand that the UFC ‘leaks’ information to reporters before fighters agree to fight. It’s not cool. Why are they doing this? Well, sometimes it’s to put pressure on the fighters. Sometimes it’s just careless. Sometimes it’s because they’re afraid that another media or journalist will get it first, so they take the plunge. Either way, it’s not fair and we all have to be better at reporting this stuff, ”Helwani wrote.

In a interview with MMANews this week, Blaydes spoke of his personal experience with the longtime practice. When asked if any of his fights leaked before signing the contract, Blaydes revealed that was exactly what happened with his last fight against Jairzinho Rozenstruik at UFC 266.

“Yeah, I didn’t get the contract for that last fight for a month,” said Blaydes. “We have known this since June. So yes, it happens a lot, in fact. I hear from guys in the gym all the time, “Yeah, I haven’t got the contract yet.” I’m like, ‘Oh, well, don’t worry. It’s on the way ‘Sometimes they just drag a little ass. I do not know why. But yes, it does happen. “

Curtis Blaydes talks to MMANews about UFC 266 win and next possible opponent

Blaydes is now back in the heavyweight title race after beating Rozenstruik last month. The unanimous decision victory came after a devastating knockout loss to Derek Lewis in February, which ended Blaydes’ four-game winning streak.

If “Razor” had won this fight, he surely would have faced Ciryl Gane for the interim title. But as the youngest of the top five heavyweights at 30, Blaydes has plenty of time to mount another title race, and he seems to have all the tools to one day become a champion.

Watch our full interview with Curtis below to hear his thoughts on this UFC 266 win, the arrest of Jon Jones, the provisional title shot of teammate Cory Sandhagen and his plans for a return to the Octagon in 2022.

What do you think of the UFC’s practice of prematurely disclosing information about fights?
