Dana White recently expressed her opinion on other MMA promotions trying to sign released UFC fighters.

At a press conference after Dana White Contender Series Week 8, when asked if he plans to keep the show’s losers, White said:

“You’re not wrong, you’re absolutely right, but that’s one of the confusing parts of watching these other guys fall apart and do what they’re doing. I don’t know what to tell you… This you say that’s absolutely correct. But when you watch these other shows, these other shows don’t really do what we do. They aren’t looking for promising young talent or whatever, a lot of these people are looking for guys. that we’re releasing. You know what I mean? Matchmaking style doesn’t make sense to me. What you say makes absolute sense, but thank goodness! F ** k em! “

Tuesday’s DWCS event consisted of a five-fight card that saw three arrivals. The two fights that went the distance were also exceptional from a technical point of view.

Dana White has often criticized other promotions in the past, including Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy promotions

Dana White has never hesitated to say what he thinks. The UFC president has often criticized other MMA organizations.

White recently responded to Oscar De La Hoya’s criticism of the UFC and its compensation policy. He accused Golden Boy Promotions of allegedly offering an average payment of $ 2,000 to his fighters.

Dana White brought copies of the Golden Boy Promotions card athlete payment sheet. https://t.co/k4bl7Ojyqq

The UFC president said:

“I hate him so much I would like to prove he’s a two-sided, hypocritical, lying piece of shit. He did his first MMA event. So every UFC veteran on his card, has it. did more for their last fight than they did for his event. Most of them did more in some or all of their UFC fights. 17 of 22 fighters got less than starting compensation at the UFC. “

In 2020, White openly took to Bellator MMA for declaring his light heavyweight division the most competitive in the world.

Jan Blachowicz and Corey Anderson rekindle their feud on social media.

Corey Anderson was riding high after arriving in the first round against Ryan Bader last Saturday night in the semi-finals of the Bellator Light Heavyweight Grand Prix. That was until he got a Tweet from his former opponent Jan Blachowicz. Blachowicz called Anderson after his victory.

“Wait… So a guy who ran away from the UFC after I slept him and almost made him retire, got a few 2nd league wins and claims he’s the best?” Blachowicz wrote. “Maybe I hit him too hard… No class in winning or losing Corey.” There are levels to that.

Blachowicz holds a victory over Anderson in the back when they fought in the UFC at UFC Fight Night 167. He took a moment in his own fight preparations to remind Anderson who exactly is the King of the Kings. light heavyweights. Anderson didn’t just put up with this insult, he came back himself chatting a bit.

“Let’s not forget,” Anderson replied. “What happened to you the first time I let you look like an elephant man.” And you posted “I have to go home and rethink my career.” Yeah, I got knocked out in our 2nd fight (stroke of luck?) But I played you loose for 15 minutes straight, nothing lucky about that.

Anderson left the UFC in 2020 right after the second fight with Blackowicz. He then signed with Bellator and won his three fights with the new organization. Anderson is just one fight away from winning the Bellator light heavyweight title. As for Blachowicz, following his victory over Anderson, he won the UFC 205-pound title and defends it for the second time when he faces Glover Teixeira at UFC 267.

If Jan Blachowicz and Corey Anderson fought for the third time now, who do you think would win?

It’s always a good thing when your talent is compared to “His Airness” Michael Jordan, and Islam Makhachev says he has earned such honor in past AKA sparring sessions with Luke Rockhold.

Fifth-ranked lightweight Islam Makhachev is currently the owner of an eight-game winning streak with performances that have many people believe he is made for a future world champion. If that was to be said to someone at AKA, it would be preaching to the choir.

Those of AKA have always publicly praised Makhachev’s skill level. And according to a recent story from the man himself, one teammate in particular gave him big praise behind closed doors as well.

Islam Makhachev claims he ragdolled Luke Rockhold during sparring

According to Makhachev, there was one specific incident where a teammate grudgingly complimented him on his abilities after being repeatedly thrown by the Russian. And wouldn’t you know, this man is none other than UFC middleweight Luke Rockhold.

“When [Rockhold] was preparing for Machida’s fight, Machida was a left-hander. So I seemed to be the only left-hander in the gym at the time. Luke is tall compared to me, but Javier [Mendez] asked me, ‘Islam, please take a few tours with him. We need a left-hander. I’ve always accepted, ”Makhachev’s story began in an interview with RT Sport.

“So we fought a lot of times, and I can’t remember a single time that I didn’t manage to do a two-legged judo teardown on him. It was more than one or two, five or ten times. Much more.”

Eventually, Rockhold had had enough and was determined to put an end to his embarrassment, but it only got worse.

“So he comes in for another sparring, gives me little gloves and says, ‘Today you won’t throw me!’ So the sparring starts and I start it again… ”Makhachev continued with a smile. “And he’s in the air, really upset and already screaming loudly.” I do not know. He has such long legs, maybe that’s why I’ve always done it so easily.

With reports that Khabib Nurmagomedov is considering a football crossover, we made the comparison with Khabib and Michael Jordan: two men who retired at the top of their sport to embark on another. We rated Khabib’s interest in football as “full Michael Jordan”. But if you ask “Air Rockhold”, the comparison with Jordan is more appropriate for Khabib’s successor, Islam Makhachev.

“Yes, he was really angry, and still very focused on our fight, like ‘You’re not going to do this today!'”, Continued Makhachev. And then he said, ‘You’re like Jordan in basketball in terms of the throws. “”

Are you surprised to hear this story from UFC lightweight Islam Makhachev repeatedly throwing former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold?

GOAT against GOAT? Here’s a look back at a story published that day three years ago. Today Jones has more pressing issues to deal with than other opinions. But in 2018… well, in 2018 he still had more pressing issues to deal with; he just had more time to deal with perceived criticism.

On this day three years ago …

Georges St-Pierre responds after Jon Jones took offense to his recent comments about the use of performance enhancing drugs.

St-Pierre has made waves with his recent comments on PED users. One comment in particular stood out. St-Pierre said PED users had no place in the “greatest discussion of all time” and used the example of a fighter who blew himself up on steroids after winning by a head butt, then said the head butt was not the result of using PED. The description matched Jones, who beat Cormier with a header and then jumped for Turinabol.

Georges St-Pierre clarifies his remarks

Feeling the finger pointed at, Jones hit back at “Rush” saying brain damage must have brought him to that conclusion. During a recent appearance on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show, St-Pierre made it clear that he has no problem with “Bones” (via MMAMania.com):

“Jon Jones got mad at me, I saw on social media, because of the steroids thing, so my friend showed me the post on Instagram and I didn’t get it. I wasn’t aiming. Jon Jones. I wasn’t talking about Jones, but I realized, “Damn, Jon Jones wins with a header against Cormier. But I wasn’t aiming for him. I was talking about DEPs and taking people out when they get done. take it for DEPs and I would often say that everything is different. It’s like it’s a gray line, it’s not black and white. If you look at some guys who got caught with performance enhancing drugs, after they get caught their performance goes down. They are not the same fighters anymore. But if you look at Jon Jones, Jon Jones has been pretty consistent. And he claims that, I believe from what I have He read in the report that one of the substances was contaminated, so it wasn’t that he took it, it was just that one of his supplements was contaminated. not. So I wasn’t specifically targeting him. I have a good relationship with Jon Jones. I trained with him and felt bad.

St-Pierre and Jones are no strangers to each other. Both men trained in Jackson-Wink MMA. They were also seen supporting each other in the crowd for their fights.

Do you think Jon Jones has become a little sensitive to GSP’s comments?

PFL fighter Claressa Shields shared her take on Superman’s son being bisexual in the latest comic book series.

The Flint, Michigan native made a name for herself in the boxing world with multiple world titles and an Olympic gold medal. The 26-year-old transitioned to MMA in June against Brittney Elkin. Despite the early adversity, Shields ended up scoring the TKO finish in the third round.

The new Superman comic book series is slated for release on November 9, 2021. According to several publications, including NPR, The Man of Steel’s son Jonathan Kent will appear as bisexual in the pages of Superman: Son of Kal-El # 5.

Since news of Kent’s sexual orientation came to light, many have shared their reactions on social media. Among those who responded to the comic book chaos was a Claressa Shields. The decorated boxing champion worries the message will be too confusing for children.

“I’m far from being homophobic, I just don’t think cartoon characters should be bisexual or gay. Leave the children alone. Don’t push an agenda on the kids. For me, it’s confusing kids. If a teenager or adult decides to be bi or gay, congratulations to them. I have no problem with that “Claressa Shields job.

After her remarks were seen by a commentator as homophobic, Shields clarified that she has no problem with anyone who considers themselves to be part of the LGBT community. Since the target demographic for comics and cartoons is generally a younger audience, some will no doubt share Shields’ fears while others will see them as unwarranted.

Do you agree with Claressa Shields’ stance on keeping LGBT people out of comics and cartoons?

Colorado innovates and embraces open scoring in the sport of boxing and mixed martial arts.

The Colorado State Boxing Commission (CSBC) on Tuesday voted to implement new rules and regulations for combat sports. Kansas is the only other state currently operating with approved legislation, according to Director Tony Cummings. The Sunflower State has been practicing the measure since February 2020.

Open scoring lets everyone – fighters, coaches and fans – know how the judges are evaluating fights in real time. After each round, the scoreboards will be made public to anyone who wants to see them. The news is particularly intriguing since fighters will now know if they win or lose their fight on the judge’s scoreboards.

Director Cummings explained that the open scoring rule is optional for promoters. In accordance with the new plan, the CSBC believes that the new legislation aims to illustrate transparency in rating.

“I just consider it something that is necessary for the sport,” Cummings told ESPN when asked about the evolution of state regulation. “This is how I view every rule and policy we adopt. Does this benefit the fighters? And if so, from a security or transparency standpoint, we’ll look at it. This is my opinion on it.

Open scoring is currently not part of the unified rules of MMA, as it is overseen by the Association of Boxing and Combat Sports Commissions (ABC). Although, under the current CBA system, states are allowed to adopt the rules as they see fit within their respective capacities.

Asked about the recent rule change, Cummings doubled down on the fact that promotions should be left to their own decisions.

“I can only do what my commission wants me to do,” Cummings said. “If it’s their business decision, it’s their business decision. I can’t tell them what to do. We are simply moving forward in our business. … Some of these decisions might be unpopular. But my commission is investing to make it the best state to organize events. “

Colorado has been very active with the rule changes. Recently Colorado approved a set of rules similar to ONE Championship. The CSBC voted to use the first Asian MMA promotion rule set, where fighters can bring down an opponent to their knees. Similar to open scoring, Cummings said implementing the practice would be optional for promotions.

What do you think of recent advances in open scoring in Colorado?

Diego Garijo is a unique personality who has mixed the generally contrasting worlds of mixed martial arts and drag. The 41-year-old, who is covered in prison-style tattoos, considers himself a complete fighter, painter and artist.

Diego Garijo was born in Guanajuato, Mexico and was smuggled into the United States as a child. A misguided teenager, Garijo served several prison terms before fighting professionally in 2006. Garijo amassed a professional 7-1 record, which also included a victory over Saad Awad at the Bellator 10.

Diego Garijo’s MMA career came to an end when he suffered a retinal detachment. However, a partial visual impairment could not remove ‘Dos Pistolas’ from the world of combat sports. Garijo entered the field of unarmed boxing in 2018, where he recorded one win and one loss against Tom Shoaff.

Watch Diego Garijo’s first fight against Tom Shoaff below:

When Diego Garijo is not fighting in the ring, he is playing the role of a drag queen known by the stage name “Lola”. According to Garijo, the worlds of combat sports and drag do not contradict each other. Over a year after starting his drag career, Garijo said in an interview with VICE:

“Before my first drag show, I felt like I was before a fight. When MMA started, I would sit in the same locker room as my opponent before the fights. We would sit, we would watch, we would be like, ‘Can I to beat him?’ It was the same in my first drag show competition. One tiny piece, eight adults, each competing against each other. I wasn’t nervous though. I have strong nerves. Or maybe I’m just too much. stupid to be afraid. “

Take a look at the combat-cum-drag artist below:

Why did Diego Garijo start boxing with his bare hands?

Diego Garijo started boxing with his bare hands even though he risked losing his only good eye. According to Garijo, his love of fighting was too strong to completely break away from it. He explained to VICE that he had ventured into the world of boxing with his bare hands:

“I retired from professional combat sports in 2012 after my retina detached. My doctor managed to save the eye, but it doesn’t work as well anymore. He warned me that the same could happen. in the other eye. But I just wasn’t ready to give up the fight. So, I got into boxing with my bare hands. I wanted to try it without the gloves. I really wanted to feel it. love to fight. I would probably risk going blind for that. “

Junior Dos Santos is moving from the octagon to the ring – at least for now.

Dos Santos, 37, is the former UFC heavyweight world champion. To win the title in 2011, he scored a quick 64-second knockout against Cain Velasquez. Ten years later and just like his rival, “Cigano” followed in Velasquez’s footsteps by trying his hand at professional wrestling.

Over the past few months, American Top Team owner Dan Lambert, along with several MMA fighters training outside the gym, has taken over All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite on Wednesday nights – Junior Dos Santos included.

In this latest episode, Lambert announced that next week in Miami on Friday Night AEW: Rampage, there will be a six-man tag team match between AEW’s Inner Circle and Ethan Page, Scorpio Sky and the first Dos Santos.

UFC’s top welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal will also make his presence felt by accompanying the “JDS” team into the ring where they will stand outside the ring. This will not be the first appearance of “Gamebred” in AEW.

Junior Dos Santos (21-9) was released from the UFC after his last loss in December. Facing interim UFC heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane, Dos Santos suffered his fourth straight loss by TKO.

Since then, the Brazilian has expressed interest in potentially getting into boxing and joining the Bellator roster for a dream match with Fedor Emelianenko. Unfortunately for Dos Santos and everyone else in the Emelianenko contest, Tim Johnson ended up getting the call for the Bellator’s debut in Russia on October 23.

As for Masvidal, title holder Baddest Motherf * cker is set to line up an old grudge match with Leon Edwards – while simultaneously running his own bare-handed MMA promotion, Gamebred FC.
